SPEECH & POSTER COMPETITIONS
INTERNATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION DAY 2020

The Oxford Dictionary defines corruption as "dishonest or illegal behaviour, especially of people in authority" and "the act or effect of making someone change from moral to immoral standards of behaviour".

To raise awareness and educate the public about the need for the eradication of corrupt practices within both the public and private sectors of our economies and communities, International Anti-Corruption Day is an initiative spearheaded by The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and observed each year on December 9Corruption affects every country, region and community and is one of the greatest obstacles to a country achieving the
17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations Member States in 2015

This year, ICAB is encouraging young people in Barbados to raise their awareness in relation to the reasons why integrity (being honest and having strong moral principles) is important to our society and to identify the benefits that may be derived from these positive behaviours via poster and speech competitions. Through these platforms participants will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes including laptops and tablets.
