ELECTION OF COUNCIL MEMBERS

The 49
th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (Institute) will be held on
Thursday, 8 June, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.


By-Law 20 of the Institute’s By-laws makes provision for the election of members to Council and states that “A member other than a retiring member of the Council or one recommended by the Council for election shall not be qualified to be
elected a member of the Council unless notice in writing be given to the Secretary not later than the last day of April nor more than three months before the day for election by three members qualified to vote for such election of
their desire to propose such person for election.  A statement under the hand of the person proposed for election of his willingness to be elected a member of the Council must accompany the notice.”

VACANCIES

There are six (6) vacancies on Council to be filled at the 49th AGM.

In accordance with By-Law 20, members are invited to submit nominations of persons who may be interested in election to Council to fill the
six (6) vacancies (as indicated above) for a period of three (3) years (2023 – 2026).


The list of members nominated for election/re-election to Council will be included with the Notice and other documents
relating to the Annual General Meeting which will be circulated subsequently.

GOOD FINANCIAL STANDING


Note: By-law 56 which states 
“No member shall be entitled to be present or to vote at any general meeting
unless he is in good financial standing with the Institute.”
