The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB) is the local regulatory body for the accountancy profession. Our membership is open to suitably qualified professional accountants and students.

STEPS TO BECOMING AN ICAB STUDENT


Step 1. Go to the student application

Step 2. Follow the steps in each respective application: All applications require you upload a photo, provide supporting documentation and pay the fees. 

Step 3. The office  will contact you with any questions about your application.

Step 4.  The completed application and supporting documentation is sent to the Admissions Committee for review and approval. Please note the committee meets monthly to review student applications.

Step 5. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados will provide a formal communication about the outcome of the Admissions Committee review.

Step 6. If successful, you will receive a welcome package. In the event, of a appeal, please contact the office at admin@icab.bb

HOW DO I REGISTER TO BECOME AN ICAB STUDENT?


Becoming a student of the Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB) makes a definite impact on your professional development. To join you must be a member of at least one of the groups listed below:

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
Collaborating with the ACCA in a joint scheme arrangement , we offer our student members the benefits of two recognized institutions - ICAB & ACCA!  Applicants must simultaneously register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados and the ACCA as a student member.


ARE YOU AFFILIATED WITH ANY OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS


During your development you may have completed your registration with a different qualifying body, tell us more when you complete the ICAB Student Registration form.
You will be notified if the regulator you have chosen meets the requirements. To apply you must be a member of any of the following qualifying bodies:

  • Association of Chartered Accountant
  • The American Institute of Certified Public Accountant
  • Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
  • The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in England
  • Chartered Professional Accountants of Australia
  • Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland
